It is one of the most celebrated Hindu festivals, lasting for 5 days or longer. It is a time of great rejoicing for the upcoming year and a time of offering special pujas (rituals).
Diwali is celebrated on a new Moon night when the Moon is not visible. It is the time when Hindus worship the goddess Laxmi, seen as the giver of all comforts and money in this age.
The Festival of Lights is the triumph of good over bad, nobility over evil, knowledge over ignorance, happiness over unhappiness
