tantric massage explanation of kundalini

Maybe the majority of you who come and receive a tantric massage are not really concerned about the kundalini. You come to receive a relaxing and reviving tantric massage and you are more interested in the experience than all the theory

But I have to set the record straight, from my point of view because I have  seen so many websites stating that the purpose of tantric massage is  to awaken the kundalini, align the chakras etc….

As always, there is a lot of nonsense  and half-truths spoken by people who have not really gone in depth into the subject, and have no real understanding. So to set the record straight, I would like to insert here a quotation from the great sage Ramana Maharshi, who is maybe the best known and respected master of the past 100 years. This is taken from one of the numerous question and answer sessions with Ramana:

Q: The kundalini (primal conscious energy) is said to rise from the base of the spine.

Maharshi: ‘That current is ourselves.

Mind is the real kundalini. The representation of kundalini as a serpent is merely to assist duller minds. The forms of representation of the chakras (energy centers) are also illusory.

The illumination is experienced in the right side of the chest, in the Heart, when the Self is realised. Kundalini and chakras exist for those who practice that path of yoga, but not for those who practice Self-Inquiry.’

In any case, the awakening of the kundalini is not a simple matter, and is very unlikely to occur during any kind of massage, whether the massage is labelled tantric or anything else.

Tantric massage is a style of massage or bodywork that draws on the principles of tantra, an ancient spiritual practice originating in Central and Southeast Asia. In most modern-day practice in the West, tantric massage involves massaging and stimulating the full body with particular focus on sensitive areas like the penis and vulva. It's sometimes referred to as simply an erotic massage, although a tantra massage also incorporates breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness elements and is not necessarily sexual. Tantric massage also has a spiritual and energetic component, wherein the practitioner or giver helps move the receiver's energy throughout the body to promote inner healing.
